Ammar Hassan, DO, is an expert, board-certified gastroenterologist at the Centers for Digestive Health in Highland and Merrillville, Indiana. He is highly trained and has over a decade of health care experience.
Dr. Hassan graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in health science from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University in Downers Grove.
He went on to complete an internal medicine residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Evanston, Illinois. He finished up his medical training with a fellowship in gastroenterology at Hackensack University Medical Center in North Bergen, New Jersey, where he served as chief fellow.
Dr. Hassan maintains his advanced credential with continuing education courses. He is board-certified in internal medicine and holds numerous other medical certifications. Dr. Hassan has participated in and published multiple research studies in prestigious medical journals.
